National Mechanics
National Mechanics’ bar in Philadelphia is breathing new life into an old edifice.
When you pull open the tall, ancient doors, curtained in a blood red fabric, you open the passage way to a strange and mixed feeling of warmth and welcome. For some reason you feel like you’ve been here before. Maybe you read descriptions of hand modeled bars, or detailed stained glass in a book; or you recall the ancient brick walls and warm, florid lighting from films about days gone by. In any case, you can tell the work that went into this beautiful and historic building was wrought by the hands of people who love what they do, and care about those who enter.
As for the bar, we’ll let a greater mind introduce you… Lord Byron said that “Man, being reasonable, must get drunk; the best of life is but intoxication.”
So with 32 varieties from across the globe occupying our drafts and bottles, we must have damn near achieved Utopia. From local legends like Yards and Victory to exotic imports like Hitachino and Newcastle Brown, our beer selection will satiate any palate. So stop by, soak in the warm and inviting atmosphere, listen to some unique music and put down a few with old friends, new friends, or slightly slurring strangers. Cheers!
